Luster 1-Hour White is a 3 step synergistic system that is clinically proven to accomplish efficient whitening results without causing any tooth sensitivity.
STEP 1: Accelerator Mouth Rinse
The slightly basic pH drives the reaction breakdown of hydrogen peroxide to the products. The nascent oxygen species is the primary agent responsible for the whitening process. The accelerator composition also contains the following:
- A compound which accelerates the decomposition of the oxygenation compound which is a basic substance
- An agent which carries the whitening agent to the tooth surfaces and within and releases them to the chromogen (stain) molecule
- A surfactant which improves the wettability and is a penetration enhancer and
- A disinfectant which kills the bacteria that produce peroxides which are naturally occurring enzymes which destroy peroxides.
STEP 2: Direct Application Whitening Gel
This patented formulation contains a resin which temporarily adheres to the teeth enabling the oxygenating species and oxygen molecules to be in contact and within the tooth to effectively dissolve the chromogen stain molecules. The direct application composition contains a photoactive substance which when exposed to heat will further activate the whitening agent.
STEP 3: Light
The light contains a biologically safe and effective level of blue visible light which can penetrate the tooth and activate the photoactive substances within the tooth yielding a minimal amount of heat. The light emits a small amount of heat emits which will further activate the whitening agent.
